BRICS CCI Launches Mentorship Drive

The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI) has declared a new initiative that will enable women entrepreneurs to break through to new markets with the help of structured mentorship and global collaboration.

At the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Davos, Ruby Sinha, the President of BRICS CCI Women Empowerment, told that the chamber is enhancing the programs that link the women business leaders in the BRICS Plus countries, including the networks in Brazil, Russia, and South Africa.

Mentorship built for cross-border growth

At the heart of the initiative is the Global Women Leadership Mentoring Program, which focuses on mentorship, skill-sharing, and practical guidance to help women entrepreneurs grow internationally. According to Sinha, the goal is to encourage cross-border collaboration so women founders can expand their reach and build partnerships outside their home geography.

This includes not only networking, but also real support in areas like market access, scaling strategy, and building confidence to operate in new business environments.

Women in Innovation, Science and Entrepreneurship initiative

BRICS CCI is also expanding another flagship program called Women in Innovation, Science and Entrepreneurship, which was launched globally at the BRICS Summit in Brazil.

This initiative is also expected to be a major focus at the BRICS CCI Womenโ€™s Summit in March, where global delegates are scheduled to attend and participate in conversations around women-led innovation and entrepreneurship.

Why this was announced at Davos

The official statement was made at the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum taking place from January 19 to 23, 2026, in Davos-Klosters. The WEF annual conference this year is under the theme A Spirit of Dialogue and has nearly 3,000 people attending from more than 130 countries, such as global leaders, CEOs, policymakers, and innovators.

The main goal of the event is to unite the four sectors, government, business, civil society, and academia, to deliberate on the pressing issues our world faces and agree on the priorities to tackle them together.

Through mentorship and international link-ups, BRICS CCI is positioning these programs as a way to help women entrepreneurs:

  • Enter new markets with guidance and support
  • Learn directly from global peers and experienced leaders
