Elena Rybakina beats Coco Gauff in US Open semifinal action, recovering from a set down to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The victory sends the Kazakh second seed into her first US Open final. 

Elena Rybakina beat Coco Gauff in the US Open semifinal result came after Gauff made the stronger start. The American controlled the opening set with solid serving and defence, taking it 6-3 and putting Rybakina under early pressure. 

Rybakina changed her approach in the second set, using greater width from the baseline and finding more consistency with her groundstrokes. She moved ahead 4-1 before closing out the set 6-4 to level the match. 

The Coco Gauff US Open semifinal campaign then went into a deciding set, where Rybakina’s serve became an important weapon. She held firm through several tense games and eventually earned a break to move closer to victory.

The Rybakina US Open final gives the Kazakh player a chance to claim her first title at Flushing Meadows. It will also be her fourth Grand Slam final and her second major final of 2026 after winning the Australian Open earlier in the year.
