New 2026 Woman in Business Award announced by BBB Serving Eastern Carolinas

New 2026 Woman in Business Award announced by BBB Serving Eastern Carolinas

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Carolinas (BBB) has launched a new award for 2026, the BBB Woman in Business Award, which celebrates exemplary contributions of women entrepreneurs and business professionals.

BBB’s 2026 awards program is open to businesses located in the 48-counties service area in North Carolina covered by the BBB. These counties include Cumberland, Bladen, Harnett, Hoke, Moore, Robeson, and Sampson. The program comprises categories apart from the new Woman in Business Award, e.g., the Torch Awards (for ethical business practices), the Catalyst Award (for non-profits and mission-driven businesses), the Spark Award (for young or new entrepreneurs), and the Spark Jr. Award (for high-school students with entrepreneurial initiatives).

The Woman in Business Award takes the lead in identifying female leaders who have created a significant impact in their field. It confers those who integrate business achievement with community involvement and moral business practice. In an environment where recognition can reveal role models working, the award would thus serve to inspire more women to lead and excel.

The 2026 awards will accept entries from now until January 5, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Any eligible person or business can file a nomination or self-nomination through the master application form of the BBB. The beginning of this award cycle is a demonstration of the commitment of BBB to honour diverse leadership in business and maintain business ethics in the region.

With the addition of the Woman in Business Award, BBB recognises that women business leaders are likely to face the challenge of managing the leadership roles, community expectations, and making ethical decisions simultaneously. Acknowledgement from this award can open the way to visibility, credibility, and be a source of motivation for future women entrepreneurs.

For the prospective applicants, the perfect moment is right now. Eligible women, whether you achieve it through the creation of a new business, the leadership of an existing one, or community-oriented entrepreneurship, can take advantage of this platform. It is an opportunity to spotlight accomplishments, obtain recognition, and motivate ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌others.
