Sumeit Aggarwal who completed her MBA studies in 2005 currently pursues her Doctor of Business Administration degree at Babson College. She established Finhive which operates as a social enterprise that supports women-owned businesses to succeed. Her financial empowerment initiatives for women stem from her personal experience of continuous education and leadership development.

Aggarwal grew up in a family of educators who encouraged curiosity and education. She earned her undergraduate degree at Delhi University a master’s degree in information systems from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College. She is now part of Babson’s first doctoral class where she plans to build on her practical experience by conducting research into the challenges women face in entrepreneurship.

Her work with Finhive reflects her deep belief that access to financial knowledge and support can change outcomes for women in business. The organization provides support to businesses throughout their entire operational journey which includes their initial stage of development through their product launch and subsequent expansion. Aggarwal’s achievements include the 2024 Women Entrepreneurs Who Lift Up Massachusetts Award and the 2023 Woman of the Year – Entrepreneurship Award, recognition that highlights her impact on the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Aggarwal intends to develop her research work through her doctoral studies at Babson by creating frameworks which demonstrate the obstacles women encounter in their professional development. Her research goals include identifying structural obstacles and proposing evidence-based ways to expand women’s opportunities in business. The DBA program offers her a platform through which she can establish herself as a thought leader who will develop academic research and practical knowledge about women entrepreneurship.

Aggarwal finds motivation from the work her team has accomplished together with their partners and clients throughout their business activities. She builds networks with people who want to develop their businesses while she performs her function as a mentor. The combination of his practical business experience and academic research enables him to produce significant transformations.
