Women Empowerment Initiatives See Progress Under Yogi Government

Welfare programs for women have been demonstrated to have a measurable impact in Uttar Pradesh during the past year, especially in safety, education, and economic support areas, under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Positive changes in women’s living conditions are evident in the official data and the situation on the ground.
The state-wide “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign realized more than 13,600 activities this year and thus, the girls and women who benefitted from it were 25.5 lakh. The programme’s objectives include societal attitude changes, improvement of the child sex ratio, education for girls, and health, safety, and nutrition awareness among the population.
Another important measure, the “Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana,” has already allocated a whopping over ₹130 crore in support of more than 3.28 lakh girls’ education and life milestones. The scheme is designed to offer financial aid at important periods of the child’s life from birth to higher education, thereby facilitating the parents’ or guardians’ support for the girl child’s future.
Single women with no means of support are being helped by the “Nirashrit Mahila Pension Yojana,” which provides them with monthly stipends. Mission Shakti is presently in its fifth phase and is primarily geared towards the mitigation of women and children’s plight. The pilot project has indirectly m, and 28 community organizations and government departments, has 28 departments.
Currently, there are more than 75 one-stop centers providing legal, medical, and police protection, giving assistance to 24,671 women this year only. The 181 Women’s Helpline is available 24/7, dealing with the emergencies and protection issues for women all over Uttar Pradesh.
Initiatives such as “Haq Ki Baat District Magistrate Ke Saath” and “Swavalamban Camps” are bringing government services to women. They are promoting face-to-face communication with the government officials to solve the problems.
The network of the safe houses for women is also increasing. The projects of working women’s hostels and shelters for distressed women are in various stages of construction or already functional in districts like Lucknow and Mathura, thus offering protection and support to women with limited choices.
